Although the Woolrich woolen mill in Pennsylvania closed in December 2018, we're still working to revitalize the brand and inspire new generations of explorers. The Woolrich archive has been preserved in order to protect its legacy. We pay homage to our long history and rich heritage by storing garments, fabric references, and a library of catalogs and advertising materials dating back to the 1930s.
We've been producing wool garments since 1830, and over the years we have been on a long journey toward sustainability and responsible sourcing. We have achieved RDS and NATIVA certifications and have turned to GOTS-certified suppliers for our organic cotton garments. With high-quality materials and innovative designs, we make garments designed to last.
We've increased the use of sustainable materials such as recycled polyester and nylon, organic cotton, and certified Nativa wool. We only use furs from the Saga Furs Auction House, which works exclusively with certified farms, or from reliable suppliers who source according to international legislation and provide compliance certificates. All goose and duck feathers and down used for our garments are by-products of the food industry. They are 100% traceable and are certified by the IDFL Laboratory and Institute, a world leader in testing and inspection according to the standards set by the European Down & Feather Association and the International Down and Feather Bureau.
Beyond legal compliance, we encourage and recommend participation in best practice labor initiatives and compliance with industry standards.
With the help of third party specialized partners, we are successfully pursuing our goal to audit our supply chain to ensure our vendors share our values and fully commit in terms of social and ethical standards responsibility, governance and environmental impact.
