Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation

Founded on the principle that each generation is responsible for leaving behind a better legacy of good conservation, The Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation (PPFF) was created in 1999. This independent organization is designed to give supporters and users of Pennsylvania's parks and forests a positive way to contribute to the conservation of the commonwealth's publicly owned properties. Woolrich is proud to be among those supporters.

PPFF is a non-profit organization that works closely with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. One of its goals is to connect people to their public lands, including 1.5 million acres of state forest and game lands and twenty-seven state parks. PPFF is organized into fifteen chapters, each associated with one of the state parks and forests, as well as fourteen independent friends groups. To date, PPFF has facilitated the purchase of three land parcels, working closely with existing land conservancies in the process. It also provides a tax-deductible vehicle to donate or bequeath money to Pennsylvania parks and forests; engages people in outdoor recreation, education, and volunteerism; and establishes public/private partnerships at the local, regional, and state levels.

In 2006, PPFF began creating a series of annual commemorative tags that are sold to highlight state park and forest regions. The tags feature the artwork of local artists. Woolrich is pleased to sponsor the Pennsylvania Wilds tag. The Pennsylvania Wilds is an area of the commonwealth that covers twelve counties in the north-central region. It contains seventeen parks and eight forest districts. The Wilds contains some of Pennsylvania's most beautiful and rugged terrain, and it has become a favorite destination for outdoor recreationists.
