My husband always takes a large in shirts. This large was way too big and the sleeves were way too long. I had to check to make sure it was not a tall. Great color, great quality but $15 shipping is a lot when you also need to exchange it for $6.00. I am unsure if the medium will even fit and may have to return it again. Not sure I will order from Woolrich again because of shipping charges I am accumulating.

Living in the Pacific Northwest, I was looking for a wool shirt that could take our cold, wet, winter weather. This shirt fits the bill! It is warm and thick...I am very happy with it and the only issue I have is that the sleeves run a bit long.

Quality is still decent for this shirt. My only complaint is the sizing. I need a XXL to cover my torso but the sleeves are rather long. I am 5 11 216lbs

The green/blue color is beautiful.

This shirt is probably the only item I adore from Woolrich these days. I own it in 3 colors.

I wear it around the house and under a heavy coat in the winter when I go out to feed my calves. In the winter it can be bitterly cold, windy and frequently rainy or snowy. The shirt is warm and SOFT. Great shirt.

A few qualities not mentioned in Woolrich's description:

- Fabric is thicker than any other shirt I own. Almost as bulky as a jacket or coat. Really good on cold days. Overkill on mild days. (Houston TX is my climatological reference.)

- Sleeve length is generous. Sleeves don't ride up when you stretch. A positive for me, but a possible negative for folks with short arms.

- I need to wear a long sleeve undershirt to avoid itching arms.

In previous years, shirt was available in a beautiful deep rich blue & black check. That's gone. It was also sold in an equally attractive deep rich green & black check- I alternated these two colors and wore them proudly to work (retail clerk) practically year round. Then the company discontinued the blue and this year did away with the green as well. There still remains a blue/green/black combination which looks nice but is only one choice & lacks the purity of either of its predecessors. In addition, the material somehow feels heavier & bulkier than before. Worst of all, this year the sleeves are at least 1&1/2" longer than before and really don't look good on me. Were I still working (I'm retired) I couldn't wear this shirt to work anymore. I would reccommend this to a friend only who expected to wear it outside, liked the color and had arms rather like an ape. I wouldn't buy it again online (size medium)- I would want to try the sleeve length in a store.

These are wonderful shirts and my husband just loves them. These shirts wash beautifully and you can wear them anywhere. I would love to see some of the plaids that you had last year for the wool shirts brought back. There was one green plaid that my husband just loved and it was always sold out.
