I purchased this shirt as a gift for my dad. The picture does not do the shirt justice. It is a wonderful wool fabric, beautiful shirt and my dad will love it. It feels warm and very high quality. I imagine you could wear it on its own or throw a t-shirt or thermal under it and use it as a light jacket. I would buy every color of these for my dad and husband because I love the shirt so much. It is a great pick!!

I like basically everything about this shirt, except for one thing...the length could stand to be a little longer, maybe 2 more inches and it would be perfection! But that doesn't constitute me giving it less than 5 stars.

Well made; as comfortable as wool gets; nice medium weight; generously sized but not extreme (unlike the Woolrich Alaskan shirt, which is huge). Wish there were more colors, including solids and tweeds, available for this great shirt.

I use this shirt for hunting in cooler weather or when sitting. For walking it serves as light jacket. For sitting, it makes a great intermediate layer. It fits well over a base layer, but it is not too bulky to go under an insualting layer.

I wont be wearing this shirt till fall, very warm, fits nicely, I`m 5`10`` 205lbs and chose xl, the sleaves are a little long, but I roll them up. The colors are vibrant, my 15 year old daughter complemented the shirt, enough said.

I love the thick wool and look of the shirt, but alas, like too many garments these days, it has the dreaded "modern"fit. In fact, the shirt is cut closer to the body than a tailored fit. I bought the shirt to be worn as an overshirt, so I had to send it back.

I bought two and wear them as an overshirt instead of a hoodie. The wool feels wooly and the sizing is full cut so it doesn't bind as a topper. The look is neat and casual which is what I was looking to create. I really now like wool shirts, never had one before. Getting the color right from the screen is tricky, wish they were better at it, but no big complaints.

Excellent shirt, thick and heavy, very durable. I wanted a shirt to wear outdoors in cold weather. Layer this with a tee shirt and a wind breaker/rain coat and you can handle a wide temperature range in comfort. I have several other wool shirts and this one is my favorite.

This is a really good shirt and I recommend it without reservations. The wool cloth is a good medium weight, it's well-made, roomy, functional and perhaps a bit reminiscent of the old "hunting shirts" of early America. I find it works best layered with a cotton T and a Henley underneath. I bought one, and after wearing a day or two bought another. It's my favorite cold weather shirt.

There are just a couple ways I would like to see it improved. First, lower the back cap about three inches. There is something to be said for having the shoulder blades covered, this is the whole purpose of the cape anyway. Second, most of the colors and patterns are rather uninspired. How about some dark plaids like a Hunting Fraser or Ancient Boyd? Designs inspired by nature, not by a high rise designer who has never spent anytime in the woods. Let's face it, no man should be wearing "Buffalo Plaid," or other generic patterns.

The shirt is almost there, adjust the pattern in the back and add better colors/patterns and there is a true classic in the making.

A very nice wool shirt although the color was different than I expected (dark straw). Seems thicker than the half hitch wool shirt.

I love the color and quality of the fabric. Although the "dark straw" color is a little less vibrant than it appears in the photo, it's still quite pleasing to the eye - and the feel of the fabric is awesome. However, the cut of this shirt is odd. I'm 6'4", 200 lbs. and I bought an XL. The shirt is super baggy in both the body and the arms. The body is on the baggy side for an XL, but the sleeves are almost comical. You could fit 4 of my arms inside one of these sleeves. To top it off, the sleeves are really long for an XL,....yet the body of the shirt is short for an XL. Basically, this shirt seems like it is cut for overweight men, with gorilla arms. Sadly, I now have to waste money returning a product that should have never been offered for sale without a detailed warning about the odd sizing.
