I've bought socks from Woolrich before and had positive experiences so was very disappointed when I received these socks. I'm an average sized female, shoe size 8, but oddly, these socks are cut very narrow and very uncomfortable.

The design at the top should look like little sheep. You shouldn't call them "sheep socks" unless the figures look like sheep. I wanted to give them to a knitter friend, but now I can't.

These socks are too snug and stiff for me to get on easily. Although I am in my 60's, I don't usually have difficulty putting on socks.They don't feel like wool, they feel like nylon and lycra. I haven't had the opportunity to wear them in really cold weather yet so maybe they will be good at keeping my feet warm.

My recent order was a request from my daughter whom I gave these socks to last Christmas and they were the first item on her list this year. She stated they were now her favorite socks as they were very comfortable. I had given her two pair of black sheep type wool socks, so this time I ordered the lavendar and the cream colored sheep socks to give her more variety. She does a lot of hiking in the mountains and the socks seem to fit precisely never bunch up and keep her feet nice and dry. Eureka, we have found the socks!

I have narrow feet and average to slender lower legs. These socks are so tight they leave a huge indentation on my legs. I read other reviews about this before I ordered but thought that wouldn't apply to me. Not so! They do not conform comfortably, as the description says. The fabric is a nice weight--just not nearly enough of it.

Woolrich, please redesign these socks so they are looser overall and particularly at the top. The sheep design is really cute but is wasted on this sock. I hope my concern is heard and helps other shoppers make a better choice than I did.

These are very cute and cozy socks. The only drawback is that the tops of the socks need to stretch to fit my curvy legs, and this distorts the sheep pattern. I'd love to see the sheep pattern on short quarter socks so that the sheep would retain their shape when the socks are worn.

The socks are light weight, but warm. The top is too tight for my leg, but folded down, works well. The green is a good, hard-to-find color for olive slacks.
