short but warm
By Loves2Walk
from Chatsworth, CA
The good things about these socks are warmth and durability, and they are sized to fit. When I wear pants they keep my feet warm on a cold day. The big problem is the length. They are too short to wear under a skirt or with tall boots. They would have had to be twice as long to come up over my calves. They are more like crew socks than "over-the-calf" socks. Admittedly, I am a tall woman, but most men are at least as tall as I am. For a long time I have been finding it hard to get knee socks long enough to fit me. I recently found some men's "over-the-knee" socks that work. But they came from another company.

I got these for my MN darling she loves
By george

These socks wear like iron thet are very comfortable and warm. I prefert the ankle length but my daughter prefers over the calf. I have found the quality is always consistant and this company is one of the best.

good sock
By LinLin
from Scotland
This is a really good sock. It's quite comfortable and warm, and it looks like it will last a long time. Cozy.It is quite thick, so it gives you some extra cushioning but can be an issue with shoes or boots that are snug. I like that they go right up almost to the knee, which helps keep me warm. The color is grey - an uninspiring, bland but functional grey.

Wonderful Woolrich socks!

About Me Trendy
My husband works in the dairy dept. of a grocery store. It is always cold in there. He only wears Woolrich socks. I just keep ordering more as they wear out, which takes a very long time. He loves them and wears no other socks but Woolrich.

Just what I was looking for
By Papa Jerry

These socks are very comfortable and appear to be well made. I particularly like the cushioning and the appearance. They could be just a bit longer as they are "almost over the calf" not over the calf as described.

simply a great product
By Surveyor

I have been wearing these daily for several years outdoors in 8" working boots performing land survey work, up and down the mountains where no trails exist and in construction work. They are very comfortable, provide good cushioning and will stay where they are supposed to, that is they don't slide around as your foot moves. They have a good lifespan as well, sometimes longer than the boots. They will help keep you warm in the colder months without being too hot in the summer. Also good with hiking boots, casual shoes or just walking around inside the house. When it's really cold I switch to the Big Woolies, another great product.Pricey? Perhaps. But for three or four years of hard use they are worth every dime.

Will purchase more
By Miss Kimberly
from Hanover, PA
I was hesitant to purchase these socks as I have very sensitive skin and the thought of wearing wool socks for hours at a time seemed dreadful. But I needed something to keep my feet and lower legs warm while fishing from a boat on Lake Erie. I looked at several socks from different manufacturers, but these were the only real knee-height ones I found. I am tall so crew length socks just don't cut it with my long legs. All I can say is "WOW". The socks are comfortable and they kept my feet warm but didn't feel hot when it got warmer in the afternoons. Absolutely NO itching!! I hope to purchase more in the future - I just wish they weren't so expensive.

The sock is advertised as over the calf and it isn't. Other wise it is a good sock.

Very comfortable, well over the calf, thick but not so thick that I cannot wear them with any of my shoes.

The price is a little high, but still a good value. The shipping can be unbelieveably high - almost $10 on 3 pair of socks.

About Me Athletic, Bargain Shopper, Casual
I bought three pairs of these socks last Fall and immediately fell in love with them. I never feel the toe seams which was a huge problem with other socks. They are warm when it's cold and drafty, yet my feet don't sweat when it warms up. They have held up for almost six months, and still look and feel like new, so I just bought four more pairs.

By Coldfeet

About Me Chronic cold feet and leg
The best thing about this is they go all the way up over the calf and dont fall down. Everything else I have tried that is labled "over the calf" only come about 3/4 of the way up.

Great socks.
The best socks EVER
By Lady motorcyclist
from Hellertown, PA
I bought my over-the-calf ten mile socks a few weeks ago and I wear them everywhere. I work in a cold, drafty place and they keep my feet warm and dry. I also wear them around the house, working in the yard, and riding motorcycles in cold weather. Calling these things mere "socks" is an insult; they are more like "foot comfort systems." I pull them on and it's like a soft, warm hug from my toes right up to my knees. They're soft and warm but never sweaty, and the seams are so finely crafted that I can't even feel them. And they are made right here in the USA! Yes, they're expensive, but I stand up for hours and I'm so sick of cheap, saggy socks with nasty toe seams that hurt my feet. These socks are worth every penny. I plan to buy some more next month, if Woolrich has any left.
