I ordered 4 pairs of these socks for my husband, all in Medium. The Loden fit fine, and the Black were visibly smaller, and too tight for him. Unfortunately, he wore a pair, so I can't send them back. The quality is good, so I will order more Lodens.

I had purchased this same item in the Loden color at a local store, but they only had one pair. So I went on the Woolrich website to order more. I ordered the same Loden color, but also ordered Black. When I received them, I could see right away that they were much smaller. When I tried them on, they were much tighter, especially in the calf area. I am not pleased with the smaller size. The Loden color is very comfortable.

These socks are a great find. They were originally bought for my son and my husband, but after trying them on myself, I discovered how comfortable they were for me. You see, I wear a wide width in women (size 8) but the women's style socks in the Woolrich never quite fit me comfortably even in the large because the women's are made for people with regular width. The Big Springs are just wonderful! I wear this in the medium. There is no binding at all on my foot, yet it is not loose nor sloppy either, just a perfect fit! With more color selections, I would buy even more pairs to stock!

My husband loves these socks for winter. They are perfect with his chinos which is his work attire. Extra bonus, they come in extra large for his size 13 feet. It took him 3 years, but he finally wore out the 5 pairs that he started with and these are the replacements.

Started purchasing these socks about a year ago, I now have about 7 pairs, including my first. I wear these socks for work in law enforcement, 12 hour shifts, it could be -30 or +30 degrees. They always stay put, never go down my ankle, my favorite socks ever.

These socks are what got me hooked on Woolrich clothing. I found these socks at the IBC clothing store in Malone N.Y about a year and a half ago, they looked comfortable so I decided to give them a try. I work in law enforcement, I`m inside and outside off and on all day, in summer and winter, it could be +30 in summer and -30 in winter and everything in between. I wear high ankle steel toe work boots, all my previous sock eventually found their way down my ankle to the bottom of my boots, these socks stay up all day long, after a 12 our shift.These are the only socks I wear for work, I also wear them on my days off, I now have 10 pair, and I still didnt wear out my first.

Feels a tiny bit large out of the box, but after 1st wash & dry is perfect. Would be a GREAT winter work sock if it came in over-the-calf

As I have written above, I like the material combo and keep my feet warm as well as not sliding down to my toes while walking. Very comfortable.

I looked in so many stores-----no one makes socks that are dressy for work yet made mostly of wool! Thankfully Woolrich did! These were a winner for sure----my husband loves these for work- I would love it too if you made another pair of dress socks that were the same style, yet thicker!

Gift for my husband, who is a truck driver, which means he is in and out of the truck in snow, rain and sleet. Loves that they keep his feet dry and warm. Nothing worse than a grumpy husband.

I bought these socks for both my husband and myself because I had been buying the SmartWool socks for women and I just don't like how short they make them...they bother me above my ankles, so I thought I'd try these. They are a bit big for me...got a M...(I have a 9 1/2 women's shoe size) but I like that they are crew length and I'd say medium weight with a nice cushion on the bottom. I haven't had them long enough to see how well they wear but I have washed them once in cold water and they didn't shrink.

Bought two pairs for my husband for Christmas. He loved them so much he asked for more. According to him they are the best winter socks he's ever owned. They are soft and his feet stay warm, even outside, but don't sweat.
