Comments about Women's Spring Hill Packable Jacket:
I returned it. Hip area too snug---needs elastic for comfort and better fit. Also, sleeves would be better with elastic vs the velcro closure.Loved the lichen green color.

My favorite!
By Colady
from Denver, CO
This is the second of this same jacket I've owned. (I left the first one in a movie theater and the finder liked it so much he/she kept it!) Easy to carry, water-resistant, and very comfortable. Fits in my airplane bag for those chilly flights. Gets a lot of use in our Colorado changeable weather.

This raincoat will fill the bill for our upcoming trip to Alaska. I especially like the fact that it stuffs into its own pocket for economy of space (though I wish it came with directions for the best way to fold it, etc.). I'm happy!

A "Must Have" Item For Travel
By Lady on the go
from U.S.A.
I bought an earlier version of this windbreaker years ago and recently bought this one to replace it.It's rain resistant, wind proof, has a high SPF, great to layer over a sweater for extra warmth and packs into a very small space. It's on my "must have" item list when I travel. It's also nice to have handy while shopping if the temps drop unexpectedly or you get caught in a sudden rain shower.Highly recommend this item!

Extremely lightweight and packable
By Travelgirl
from Easthampton, MA
I bought these for my teenage girls (1 medium and 1 large) for a trip to Italy. When they arrived, both girls thought the coat was too large for them, but I think it's actually good to have it a little bigger to accomodate layers. It's very thin material (good for packing, but hoping it holds up). There were no directions on how to fold it up into the pocket...so I'm still struggling with that. I'll probably just roll it up in a ball and stick in in their carryon baggage. Otherwise, I'm happy with the purchase.

Love it!
By RockinInTheRain

I bought this jacket for college for walking to class and to use when I go hiking/other outdoor activities and it is perfect. It is a little bigger then I would like, but that also means that I can wear a sweatshirt underneath when the colder weather comes along. Love the product, Love Woolrich!

Easy to Tag Along
By Daneleo

Loved the color and fit of this jacket, plus it is light weight enough to travel easily without the bulk. I agree with other buyers that the opening in the sleeve is too wide. I would have preferred a smaller opening, but elastic would have worked as a second choice.
Shiney and cheap looking
By Traveler

Very shiney fabric and boxy style. Sent it back as it was cheap looking and ran small.
I like it, however...

I really like the jacket. I especially like that it's packable. However, the only reason I had a clue as to how to pack it was because of another reviewer's complaint. Beneath her review were the instructions from Woolrich on how to pack it. Please consider adding a small instruction card to the package.

sleeves are Bell Bottomed
By Elaine

I did return this jacket due to the sleeves. As other reviewers mentioned the sleeve bell out at the wrist. Unable to tighten enough with strap. The sleeves should have had elastic, would have made the jacket much better and wearable.

Thin, but not a lightweight.
By Mary
from Wilmington, NC
This is the layer I grab first when I'm on the go for errands or play. I call it magic material. It's incredibly light weight considering what it can do. It replaces a bulky layer. Keeps out rain, wind and UV. After falling in love with the first one, I bought another color and gave it as a gift.
lightweight and travel worthy
By annie bananie

effective, lightweight, and conveniently packable for travel. Only con: fabric is very slippery and had to constantly yank shoulders back up when the jacket was unzipped.

Almost makes me wish for rain
By Skippy

This nifty windbreaker goes with me most of the time now since the weather changes in minutes and the jacket stuffs easily into my pocket or pack. Feel- good fabric with a cool pewter sheen.

Disappointing
By Trudyh
from Montgomery, TX
Bought it specifically for traveling because it supposedly packs into it's own travel bag. Well it came with no instructions on how to do that and I have absolutely no idea how to fold it.

Perfect jacket for Europe. No wrinkles!
from North Carolina
I used this jacket almost every day on recent trip to Europe. It never showed any wrinkles even though I just crammed it back into its pocket. It provided much more protection against wind and rain than I expected. I won't leave home without it now!

Excellent sub for an umbrella!

This works well - I don't bother with a raincoat or umbrella - jacket does everything!

Okay, but it didn't work for me.
By Laura
from Bellingham, WA
The quality good, but I didn't like the fabric, it felt really thin and too slick for me, I like something a little more substantial feeling. The cuffs wouldn't adjust enough to snug up the sleeves and they just hung there, but I'm only 5' 1". I had to return it.
Spring Hill packable jacket
By woolrich fan
from Minneapolis, MN
This is updated version of last years Mineral Springs jacket. Hand warmer pockets have been added and the pocket on the upper chest area has been removed. The small size I just purchased seems about a half size larger than the previous version I bought last year. The collar that covers the hood is also wider in the new version.
I have this jacket in every color

Have not used it yet, but will soon. It met all of my expectations. Lightweight and extremely compacted for travel.

Favorite travel jacket
By gramma ann
from Pittsburgh, PA
This jacket replaces the almost identical Woolrich jacket that I have used for 5-6 years on biking and walking trips. Although theoretically not waterproof,I have ridden through rainstorms and stayed dry. Works really well to block the wind, and so keeps you warmer than you would expect from a light jacket. New design has higher collar and more substantial hood, which should be even better. I love the feel of the material: supple, not stiff and plasticy at all. Great to stuff in a daypack or bike bag. Miss the compass on the zipper pulls, though, which old version had.

a must have
By mtpnc
I have two of these jackets and will probably buy a third. They are only available in the Spring. The fit and length is perfect. I wear it in the winter over fleece when I walk and it is the only windbreaker I need. It is awesome year round as it is very light weight. Perfect for travel. It is a staple for sure. Very durable and washes like a dream.
