I'm reviewing this jacket for my husband. I gave it to him for Christmas (he had admired it in the catalog). He really likes it and uses it as a casual/work coat. It is definitely heavier than the new tech jackets but this is exactly the kind of rugged jacket he needed to fill a gap. The color is a bit darker than the 'wheat' pictured in the catalog but neither of us thought that was an issue. It's still a nice color. He did read a review about fleece lined hand warmer pockets. His pockets are not fleece lined. That must have been an older model but you should probably bring it back.

Great all-around jacket. Rugged yet handsome. Fabric is surprisingly wind-resistant, comfy at 20-30 degrees. Fleece-lined pockets are cozy. The stand-up collar keeps my neck warm. Fits perfectly (size Large, I'm a 44 reg). Girlfriend says it looks great on me! I'd be nit-picking to find a con, but the zipper pull on the inside pocket is kinda small and hard to locate sometimes. But it does have a hole through which I can tie a leather thong or something. Really not a big deal. Bought my first Woolrich jacket in high school (1967!) and loved it. This jacket has that same comfort and durability, and kinda takes me back.

This is a great winter jacket! It works great for dry cool/cold weather, with jeans or khakis. I prefer a shirt and sweater with it, but weather needs to be cold as the jacket is pretty warm. It has a great inner pocket for gloves and another for smaller items with a zipper. Outer pockets are lined, so are warm and block wind to keep hands comfortable. I have has this jacket in light rain and the moisture did bead up, so there must be a coating of some type. The zipper goes all the way up, so the collar can be closed around the neck. I love this jacket!

I bought this so my husband could replace a similar jacket, also a Woolrich. He loved it. It felt as comfortable as his old one, which was more than well worn, it was getting threadbare.

I'm 37, about 5'10", around 180 with an athletic build. The length of the arms and body are perfect, but it is a bit bulky in the chest area (I'm a 40R). It feels a bit tapered though, which helps reduce the bulk of the upper portion a bit. I've yet to test it against real cold weather (from Upstate NY, live in NYC) but it is heavier than it looks. And the color WILL be darker than expected (ordered the khaki, mine's more of an olive color). All in all I think you'll get what you pay for. Better than a lot of other jackets I've tried on.

I was looking for a cotton winter jacket like we wore when we were children up here in the North--something heavy and cozy that looked good with jeans or snow pants. I feel happy (and 7 yrs. old) every time I put it on. I like the two-way zipper a lot, too--it makes things easier now that my mom's not around to dress me.

The coat is great as all the other reviews mention. The only downside (if you didn't read other people's reviews) is that the coat is darker than shown online. I knew this going into the purchase so the coat was exactly what I expected.

I wear the coat to work everyday and out on the weekends and the color goes with mostly everything I wear.

It's a very warm coat and does well protecting me from the wind in Chicago. The pockets are warm as can be and there's a massive interior pocket that's great to throw anything in while on the move.

If you're you're on the fence with those coat, PULL THE TRIGGER!

Bought this for my husband to wear for working outside in the winter. Great looking & fitting jacket. BUT, it was not warm enough, even with a hoodie, to spend much time outside if it's very cold (below 40). I'm only returning it because he has plenty of Fall jackets. Would highly recommend, though, to someone who isn't planning on spending a lot of time in colder temps.

Bought this jacket a couple years ago and it quickly became my favorite. Lots of complements. Was very disappointed recently when the zipper broke. Woolrich replaced it quickly with no problem. The original had more of a faded color to it while the new one has a darker, newer appearance. I liked the original better but my wife likes the new one better. I have long arms and the sleeves are plenty long (large).

My size (large) is OK but I think the sleeve could be just a little bit longer. I like the material quality, the color (some kind of dark brown) that is very neutral and can be worn with almost any color pants. Very well made. Good for cold but not too cold weather.
I really like the fact that the zipper can be pull both ways, from bottom up (very useful when driving) and the usual top to bottom.
I recommend this jacket. It is worth the money.

Fit was very tight at waist - everything else fit properly, but could not get bottom closed on a medium(I have a 34" waist). Really a shame, as I otherwise loved the coat.

Bought the medium and had to return it for a large found it to be smaller than most mediums and that is what i normally wear. We will see if the large is ok or if i have to send it back. The zipper problem people mention is easy to take care of you just hold both of them at the same time while zipping, don't think they needed two zippers though as it does not add anything to the jacket.

The early fall has been unusually warm and there has been little chance to wear it.But overall it lives up to advertising. My biggest problem was that it took me two years to get one. Twice before I was ready to order and you either did not have my color (saddle) or size (large). Please, folks, do something about marketing.

This is warm in the wind, ideal for recess duty. Not too warm and great with a sweater underneath. Zipper is a little stiff but it should ease up with time. Love the inside pocket. Material is rugged, don't have to worry about wrecking it.
