This was a gift for my husband,a true outdoors man and very active. While he wears 'tech gear' for hunting, skiing, hiking, this stag shirt/jacket is perfect for everything in between. He'll use it for trips around town, watching hockey at the outdoor rink, raking leaves, exercising our bird dogs. The fit was just right, front pockets are in just the right spot. Lightweight even though it's wool and it moves with him - not too stiff. I think this will be his new favorite!

I wear my BLACK-WATCH Color shirt jac all fall and winter.

In the summer, with the AC on, I like to wear it when I am in bed reading every night unless it gets too hot.

Unfortunately, every year I look to see if the BLACK-WATCH color has returned so I can get a second shirt jac. PLEASE bring BLACK-WATCH back in the Shirt Jac colors!

I wait all year just to buy a BLACK-WATCH shirt Jac. In the mean time I will continue to love my BLACK-WATCH shirt jac.

First I'll say I love the rich red and black color and the fabric. In fact I love everything about the product itself aside from the confusing sizing of it.

First of all its a little on the long side, but that's not a big deal I can deal with that. The main concern is that the armholes are extremely high. So when I have my arms at my side the bottom of the armhole is digging into my armpit. Not only does this cause excess perspiration but it is extremely uncomfortable, which causes more perspiration and thus a vicious cycle. This is not the first time I've had this high armhole issue with Woolrich products. I've found this exact problem on the Charley Shirt Jac also. (The Buffalo Check Wool shirt however fits fine)

I bought this because it reminded me of my father's wool Pendelton Shirt/Jacket from the 60s. This is thick and soft. I'm very pleased to say the least and thinking of getting another one. I am really excited because I have size 37 arms and the XL fits great. This is usually a problem for me. I anticipate wearing this up in Maine this winter and plan on staying warm.

I have been wearing this almost everyday since weather got cold.By itself or layered this is a great shirt jacket. A classic look that should last for many years. Somewhat dissapointing that it isn't American made but that's a thing of the past in about everything.Wool seems to be good quality and I would reccomend this product.

I don't care about itchy, I just want all natural wool and as usual this one, like most all the others has synthetic materials because the makers can't get a clue to quit mixing fabrics. Some of us want real quality and not cheap synthetics in our clothes.

I absolutely loved this jacket. It was my second skin, my outer shell against everything winter and cold. I looked forward to the changing fall leaves because I knew it was time to pull out my old standby. However, I lost it a little over a year ago and can't quite seem to find the same color again no matter how hard I look online. It was a wonderful brown and green plaid that allowed me to disappear into the forest. I would give anything to have that old jacket back again. If Woolrich could help me find a similar style laying around their warehouse I would sing their praises to my dying day.

I can't belive I haven't had one of these before now. It's very comfortable and not overly warm like some wool garments can be. Large pockets, nice large buttons, good looking. I love it!

First, the red and black hunt pattern is my favorite color. It just makes me feel good to wear it! This jacket is about as good as it gets. The heavy wool keeps me warm in just about all conditions. It is especially effective in cold/damp conditions. The front pockets keep my hands warm and I like the buttons over the use of zippers. If you are looking for a nice all around use jacket, look hard at this one. Very well made and the best of quality. If it gets down below 20 degrees and the wind is blowing I usually trade it for my Woolrich Field Coat in the same color/pattern.

My father had a wool winter woods coat like this, but it was heavy, scratchy. Wore this right out of the box, walked 5 miles in the night's Fall chill with just a cotton T underneath. Extremely comfortable for wool, great fit, thick, dense fabric with an easy swing, classic color and design, made my evening. Passed three people, got three compliments. And compliments are spare in my neighborhood. Thanks, Woolrich.

I puchased this jacket for my husband as a gift. His original Woolrich shirt jacket (which he purchased 40 years ago) no longer fit but was still in great shape and was donated to a local thrift store - a true testamonial to the quality of both fabric and construction! great product, I am a 45 inch chest and so used to having to get XL, but this was too large, ended up getting rid of stuff to exchange & will likely share with family... so weird that size shrinkage is something I am used to, but your standards are high and i should not have 'adjusted'...

Yet another winner! This is the second shirtjac I've purchased from Woolrich and the first one is still going strong. The fit is perfect, and the wool is both soft and warm while still being tough enough to stand up in the woods. My freinds and I enjoy winter camping and backpacking and after five years of continual use it still looks as good as the day I bought it. So why did I purchase another if it's in such good shape?
