The quality of this wool blanket is superb! It is light to medium weight and is approbriate year round, but I am using it as a layer over my quilt when the temperature drops. I was amazed at the brilliant red color and the fine quality of this blanket. It looks absolutely stunning as a coverlet on top of my queen size bed. My son has the Calvary Civil War Blanket, which is also fantastic. That one is slightly smaller in dimensions but is perfect for his single bed. These blankets are heirloom quality and will be enjoyed for many years to come.

I purchased a king scarlet Hudson Bay blanket and two Civil War Artillery Blankets for a spare bedroom. They are of the highest quality weave and the color is set in such a way as to practically never fade. The weight and dimension is perfect for the beds I have. The blankets are a fresh alternative to down conforters we had always used and provide a certain weight without being oppressive. very high quality. I really love them and they are very tasteful.

Keep the blanket on the back of a sofa and intend to buy a second one for the other sofa. Sofas are covered in a Black Stewart plaid the colors of which are black, red, white, yellow and blue. Black and red are predominant. Looks beautiful!

I got this to drape over the couch (it's a beautiful blanket) as I cannot keep my dog off the couch and he sheds quite a bit. It's a nice and heavy blanket, so it stays in place when he jumps up and down. However, it's so soft, the dog now tries to bring it to his dog bed with him at night. I will end up buying another for myself very soon.

wanted the best blanket for my horse and found it. Folded two times one way,three the other way [cavalry style], it does a very good job as a saddle blanket and doubles up as sleeping in at night if you don't mind smelling like horse sweat.

It's red and matches a red in an oriental rug in my spare room/ office. It's also a design that dates from the Civil War so it compliments the Civil War prints and memorabilia in my house.

I keep this beautiful blanket folded at the foot of my bed and use it on cold nights and for naps!
My cat loves to curl up on top of it. The red color is gorgeous and rich. The blanket is substantial without being too heavy. With its Civil War heritage it gives me a good feeling to use it.

I describe myself as a high end shopper because I would rather not buy something than buy something poorly made. I associate Woolrich products with quality and the artillery blanket is no exception. It's not a very thick blanket but it's beautiful, soft and warm. We use it over a lightweight comforter on our bed and also bring it to the couch when we watch movies. It's heirloom quality and the kids will enjoy it one day. If you live in the North and are looking for a one wool blanket solution, you might have to cough up the extra money for a Hudson's Bay.
