This is a lovely, sturdy totebag. I love the fact that it's padded and has an outside pocket. The look and feel of this item demonstrates it's fine quality. I was hoping to use it as my everyday handbag but found it to be too large and too deep. However,that just makes it all the better as a shoppingtote and stuff carrier for traveling and boating.I'm sure I will get good use of it Christmas shopping!

Gorgeous bag but MUCH larger than described. Even so, a 15" laptop cannot fit in because the zippered top narrows. But its too nice to send back and I will use it for travel and such. I am 5'4" and the straps are almost to long. Feel ambivalent about it but the sale price is too good to send it back.

I had a tote very similar to this that I had purchased from another catalog source. However, the bottom had begun to wear and part was torn. This is virtually exactly like that one, only a little larger, which is perfect for me because the other was a little small. It also seems to be sturdier -- I use it as a book bag, so that's important. I read other reviews before purchasing. I agree that there is only one inner pocket (which doesn't bother me), but one reviewer described it as more brown than tan, which is not correct about mine. Another reviewer had pointed out that it tapers at the top for the zipper (as did my other one), which is accurate and the one thing I don't care for and which caused me to rate it four stars, rather than five.

Lovely bag BUT....

When I read the description, I thought "Great" because it specifically mentions having numerous interior pockets. It has one. I'm trying to figure out how to make it work because it is a beautiful bag, but it's a challenge. I have yet to change over from my old purse because I'm having a hard time organizing all of my "stuff".

This is a dressy leather zip-top tote (not clear from description). Like all canvas zip-top totes, it puckers at the ends from the zipper and is a bit stiff overall (it also has a reinforced bottom). The handles are a good length and the leather is thick. The color is darker than the picture: brown. The zip is great since everything is protected. I wanted a tote for a laptop and this has plenty of room and could even be used for a travel bag. 2 pockets are sufficient. I hope it softens a bit with use.

This was purchased as an alternative to a traditional briefcase. It serves that function very well, with a few exceptions. The bag is wide at the bottom but narrower at the top and it does not have what I would call an easy access. That was disappointing and can be a bit frustrating. It makes it difficult to find things inside. Also, it was advertised as having "numerous" pockets, which it does not. One large one inside and one small one with Velcro closure on the outside. It appears to be very high quality construction though, aside from the few shortfalls. The longer shoulder strap lengths are perfect: not too short, not too long. Time will tell if the shortcomings are overridden by the positives.
