Nice hat, couple of small issues

Comments about Oil Cloth Safari Hat:
First, this is a very nice hat. It is well made and looks good. There are a couple of minor issues as to the fit and look. The first is that with the ear flaps in the hat runs a little tight, with the flaps down it fits good. In the photos on the website the exterior of the flaps are the color of the hat, but the actual hat has the red and black plaid showing when the flaps are pulled down, not exactly what I want. I was hoping the crown was a little shorter to fit in better with me being short.

Great All-Weather Hat

My wife and I live in the rainy Pacific Northwest. I got this for her as a gift, and she loves it. I'll occasionally steal it from her to wear when I take the dogs for a walk. It has a great classic look that works for either of us, and it handles the ugliest weather.

The style is different from one purchased a few years ago. More stiff with higher crown and cheaper looking insulation and ear flaps. The older hat, same exact color but more flexible and lower crown andeaoser to shape.

Great Hat!! This was a gift for my husband. Unfortunately the Hat was wayto large, head size was OK, but the height of the hat was overwhelming fora shorter person. Had to return. Otherwise, very well made hat and comfortable.

You could not ask for more out of a hat. Beautiful design and quality materials. What you would expect coming from a company founded on traditional quality. Great for keeping the sun off in the winter, or keeping the head protected, while tooling around outside.Regarding size, Medium was the smallest size listed, so that is what I ordered. It is a tiny bit loose, but I can pull it down to keep it more secure in the wind.I would buy it again!

This looks great with my leather jacket. I found it first in the Warren Store in Vermont, but they did not have the right size. After trying to track it down in retail, I ordered it on-line and am glad I did. What I like is that the style is not as bulky as other wide brim waxed hats I own and this hat holds its shape better. The red checked lining is far more comfortable on my bald head than any others I have tried. In spite of being told by my partner that I cannot wear the red buffalo check earflaps down when we are out together, I think that they are just what may come in handy on cold and windy occasions. That is a good feature.

Some things are better left unsaid...

The Oil Cloth Safari hat is a very durable item. The oiled cloth keeps the hat, and the person under it, very dry. It's very sung and warm in cool to cold weather. It is not real useful during the summer months, as the oiled cloth doesn't breath very well. The brown color is such that it goes with most anything; even gray hair. The fit is just a little snug, perhaps from the addition of the ear flaps, after sizing. At any rate, after removing the ear flaps, very carefully, the fit was much better. If it comes out in any other colors, I will probably purchase another one, maybe a size larger, where I can use the ear flaps.
