Comments about Women's Heirloom Plaid Wool Vest:
Gave this vest to my girlfriend. She loved it. Excellent quality. A bit pricey, but that is the cost of a quality product.

New Favorite Go To Vest
By Likes Mike
from Mulino, OR
Great with my standard jeans and western boots. It is well made, as are all of my Woolrich items. The fit is perfect, which is another reason I tend toward the purchase of Woolrich. There is never any guess work on the proper size. Although I have purchased Woolrich in the past, it has always been from local stores. This was my first purchase from Woolrich on line. Items arrived quickly and with zero problem even during the busy holiday rush.

Stunning
By Adel

Ordered one size smaller and it fits like a glove; very flattering for an older figure: looks very stylish and is warm. Pockets are handy and add cachet. Couldn't be happier. The black with grey stripes goes well with many outfits.

Just What I Wanted

About Me Classic Dresser
I love the look of a classic, tailored vest worn with jeans, a shirt or nice pants. I liked the way this vest was styled and the slightly "mannish" look since it goes well here in the West. I plan to wear it with black or gray jeans and a white shirt and a scarf, silver jewelry. Woolrich has always been a supplier of well-made clothes and I shop fairly often at this retailer. I tend to be a little big on top, so the vest was a bit snug but it does not gape and looks great. I bought a large -an extra large would have been too big for me. I love the look of the back, too.

Nice product if you are tall
By Mike
from Lakeville, MA
This is a garment for tall women. it was very unbecoming on me. I am 5'3 and not heavy, but the points made my torso look far too long for my legs. I have bought other vests from you that were straight across at the hips and much more flattering. Best of all would be the option of a vest that was solid, textured or patterned without points and without horizontal trim at the lower edge.

Disappointed
By Erin
from Lewisburg, Pa .
I tried this vest on in a store , same size , medium, and it had a much better fit than the one I receivedfrom the site . I should have bought it then, when I went back the next day it was gone so I ordered it online. This vest I ordered does not have the same fell fitted look like the same one in the store . Disappointed that the sizing is so off. Otherwise nice quality and fabric .

Good Quality Vest
By Missy
from Alaska
I love this vest, but it runs large. I am generally a medium and I sent it back for a small; however, if I could do it again, I would get an x-small. Woolrich was very good about sending a new one priority mail. Otherwise, it is a great high quality vest.
Many compliments!

This vest is a great addition to your wardrobe, just wish it came in a few other colors.

I will have to send it back because the snap was broken and I will not re-order because the price was too high for an unlined vest.

Lovely Vest!

Really wanted something to wear with shirts and this will do fine! For short people like me who wear a large size, it was a little long but still okay.

Not a good fit
By Canary

I tend to like my tops to hit at waist orslightly above. This vest hung too low and looked funny on me. I loved it, but not for me.

Great design
By Durango Gal
from Durango, CO
I love this vest and will wear it often through the cool seasons. Especially like the snap-close pockets. The "dry clean only" instruction is VERY annoying, as I am an experienced hand washer of wool things & find it perfectly workable, with care. I will no doubt test this out some day, but it is a little off-putting. I ordered it in spite of this directive only because it is a small item & wouldn't be overly expensive to dry clean, but still .....

Great look, great style, but . . .

About Me Trendy/Stylish Dresser
This can be used for added warmth under a suit-like jacket with a bright silk blouse, or -- as shown in the catalog -- as a part of a more costumey look, with cap and weskit and "sugar run" or "railroaders" type shirt beneath. I wear it for walking around outdoors, traveling, sightseeing in cool to coldish weather. It also can be layered under down for ski and ski-lodge activities. So, it's quite versatile. I first ordered the large, but it was too boxy and too big, so I returned it for a medium. I checked the "feels too large" boxes because I'm a 40DD on top with a 28 waist and the medium was not too small. I do hate armholes that are too close to my armpit, though. This feels uncomfortable to me, and it also makes larger fitting blouses sort of gather up under the arms. I don't perspire much now (thanks to proper antiperspirants), but I did as an adolescent and never forgot how tight-fitting armholes collected perspiration and also were prone to staining. Possibly this is cut tight for everyone, or possibly my largish bust makes it a tight fit there. So, I am going to rip out the binding around the armholes and cut them larger there, then resew the bindings. I hope that doesn't alter the "classic" or "heirloom" look of the vest too much. But if it does, then it is worth it because I absolutely will not wear the vest if I end up perspiring in it and, as a result, ruin a silk shirt -- or any shirt -- that I wear underneath. Other than that, it's a great vest. Classy, beautiful material, nicely tailored. No lining -- but then, it isn't that type of vest. It's got a more rugged look (but, as I said, could still "pass" in a classical and formal business setting.)

comfortable, warm and attractive
By Adventurer
I have wanted this vest for a long time because it is a member of Woolrich's heritage line of products. It is like the men's utility (or railroad) vest, but cut to fit a woman's shape. I bought the black pin strip for more versatility and it is truly a very good looking vest. That is why I listed so many places it can be worn. It can even be dressed up for a night out. I, too, wish it was machine or hand washable. It dies run a tad big, so I may try hand washing it hoping that it may shrink a little bit.
Wonderful vest
By Deb

The only thing that might be a negative is that it is only "dry clean" but that's to be expected with wool so other than that, I have no complaints.

Comfortable, warm and stylish! I love r
By Anne s.

I wear this most days as a layering garment. It's fitted style make it much more flattering than most vests and the wool is much warmer than fleece. The pockets have sturdy snaps and are very useful for holding keys and handkerchiefs. The double stitched seams are flattering to the design and the zipper is robust. I would recommend this vest to everyone and I love the classis retro red and black plain!

warm and comfortable!
By arty type

I have a preference for vests anyway and wear them with pants or skirts - this piece is versatile, I was afraid the pinstripes were going to be too prominent and look too 'railroady' but its very subtle. Its a roomy fit which I prefer anyway so it can be worn with heavier sweaters underneath.
