Previously bought 2 Branton jackets in large, very nice but wanted something akin to a wool field jacket. This is not it! (Why only a mans wool field jacket?). This style is tight all over ( I am 5'3" , 140 lbs, got a size large). I can barely move in this thing! Wanted a jacket for outdoor activities, in this I would have to stand still & upright. Got the red color which looked bright but in fact is a dull red sewn with khaki thread (which shows on pockets, etc) . Nice quilted BRIGHT RED lining looks out of place with the duller, rough exterior wool. Buttons are sewn tightly, which is good but are difficult to button. And the hood - oh my, what were they thinking? Don't zip or unzip it if its on your head, your hair will get caught, and anyway, the hood refuses to lie flat, is so rough you may get razor burn on your skin! PLEASE make a womens version of the mans wool field jacket - and don't make it fitted! I bought all 3 jackets on sale, which was good, but this Ryalee is going back, regardless .

The jacket in houndstooth is adorable. I am happy to have gotten it on sale. It is warm and cozy. I typically wear a medium in Woolrich's tops. I bought this in a large after reading the reviews. I'm about 5'9" and have long arms and legs. The sleeves of the large jacket are almost too short to make the jacket work. I have plenty of Woolrich's sweaters and blouses in size medium which accommodate my long arms without a problem. I am surprised by the short length of the arms on this product. I also have to agree with some of the other reviewers that the hood is stiff, small and rough. It needs a lining but would probably be too small with one. I don't realy mind this issue with the hood as it seems more stylish to wear a nice hat and scarf and to leave the hood unzipped and lying across the back of the jacket. The hood is not particularly functional.

Ever find a coat that fit like it was tailored just for you? Well, this is the coat for me! I have one in the pretty cream and just purchased one in brown before they run out. I've gotten so many compliments on my coat. It is warm, soft as butter, stylish, and just so timeless. I'll never get tired of this coat and I am glad I can wear it now. I love the deep pockets and side hand warmers. I also especially love the cuffs - they are super soft and keep the cold out! I am not disappointed. (I do however wish it was made in the USA)

Beautiful detailing seen only with well made coats, such as knit cuffs, pleats on pockets, and two extra buttons.

I bought this coat for myself, and I loved it so much that I bought one for my mother! I commute, so it is the perfect coat if you have to walk around. It hits just below the glut's, which means that my bum won't get cold--I live in Chicago, and it is freezing when the wind kicks up. Also, the length is just right because I have to do so much walking, I don't like a coat that restricts my legs.
The only problem that I have is that the inside of the coat has such a nice satin lining, I wish it was inside of the hood as well. It may ruin the integrity of the coat, but I don't want wool rubbing the top of my head, and pulling my hair out. That said, this coat is awesome!!

Love this coat! I've only worn it twice and have received tons of compliments. The fit is great and I love the sleeves. I do wish it zipped though!

Nice enough to wear to work, but warm enough too!

I was very disappointed that this lovely jacket did not work for me. The hood is made of thick, stiff woolen fabric and does not really lie flat when unzipped. When zipped, the hood was too thick and tight for my head and neck, even though the jacket otherwise fit me well. I reluctantly gave up and returned the jacket.

I was surprised at the quality when it arrived. Very well made. Solid construction. The color was true to what appeared on the website. I'm not a storm cuff fan, so these are not a plus for me. But otherwise very pleased.

This coat is everything I was hoping for. It's comfortable, beautifully made, and has a great classic and slightly retro feel that can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. I love the soft, quilted satin lining, the plethora of handy pockets, (both inside and out), and the flattering fit. I did order up a size to give room for layering as well as a bit of extra sleeve length, which turned out to be a good move. I'm usually a 10-12, but the large fits well and looks great while still leaving a little extra space for cozy sweaters and such. The coat is one I hope to be wearing for many years to come.

Winter wonderful! Amazing quality and fit. The Ryalee is the best looking,highest quality coat I've been able to buy in the last 20 years. Perfect fit in my size XL. The ecru is the most beautiful jacket I've ever owned,with a shimmering quilted white satin lining,in addition to the pretty brushed floral hood and pocket linings,soft and sturdy wool,high quality buttons and zipper,and the numerous top-drawer extras. This jacket has already made my Autumn/Winter wardrobe, and I haven't even worn it yet. Woolrich, you've made a lifelong fan out of me!

After long thought I ordered this jacket, and the style beats my expectation. It is not only soft and warm; it is super classy. For me, the fit is perfect. Not boxy, not tight. I can wear this with light to medium layers, like a turtle neck sweater or medium weight top. This jacket is form-fitting, which makes it flattering. In my opinion, if you plan to layer heavily you might want to order up a size. This jacket will last me for years and I'll never tire of the style. My only suggestion is that Woolrich should have added a zipper under the buttons for maximum chill stoppage.

This jacket is perfect for fall weather, not too heavy but still nice and warm. The wool is very soft and flexible, not at all stiff or scratchy. Even the quilted lining is extra smooth and soft. Love the style of the split hood, it makes it lay nice and flat when you are not wearing it. Great attention to detail and very high quality. I know this is a coat I will keep and love for years! I am a size 8 but I ordered up (Medium 10-12) and I'm glad I did because it fits perfectly
