women's classic parka

Comments about Women's Classic Parka:
I bought this jacket because I have one that I have had for 20 plus years and it was finally wearing out! The new version is even nicer and is machine washable. I had resorted to washing the old one by machine as it aged, but very carefully as the lining was all wool. This one has a detachable hood which is nice. The only negative item is that the sleeves are quite wide at the bottom and even fastening the Velcro tightly doesn't quite make them short enough for me. My arms are short! Otherwise it is a great jacket at a great price as I bought it on sale at the end of the season recently. Thanks for continuing a great design, I'm sure this one will last a long time too. It is perfect for the in between seasons here in Vermont!

Another great Woolrich product
By Retired at last

Great parka...perfect for the Pacific Northwest weather. My husband continues to compliment the color (sage). LOVE Woolrich clothes! They are good-looking and reliably sized.
Extremely well-made - I love it!

Owner of several Woolrich coats
By Kathy
from Albuquerque, NM
Good coat. I owned another one like this one for lots of years. This one is lighter in weight and in lining, BUT it is washable. That is a plus, for me. I would prefer it to be more stylish and less functional looking, but can't have it all. I'm not real fond of the brown, but I returned the sage because it was too green. When it's on sale, you can only choose from what's available in your size. I would have liked a tan, a lighter brown or even a gray, but it was not available in those colors in my size. I've always had good luck w/Woolrich stuff. Just ordered a very similar coat for my husband, we await it's arrival.
Parka
By Val
from Coloradeo
I walk everyday and live in Colorado where weather changes quickly. This will be a good layering coat, has inside pockets which work well with IPOD and cell phone. Woolrich has always sold quality clothing, I have some sweaters from them that I still wear after 10+ years.

Just what I expected
By HH

I replaced a Woolrich jacket of the same style that I have worn for 23 years. Good longevity! This one is a little lighter weight but will be perfect over a sweater or vest in cold weather. It's a good jacket for layering.
My third!
By Julie
from Michigan
This is my third exact-same jacket over 30 years! It is lightweight, but warm and practical with all the pockets. Very well-constructed. My only wish is for a petite version!
The coat is fine.
from Central New York
I wasn't sure about it when I first took it out of the packaging. However, I wore it one afternoon shopping just to see. It is comfortable. My problem is that I was hoping for a slightly warmer coat to wear in the upper ranges of "cold", say 30's through low 40's. But I don't think it will be warm enough for that.

Just what I've been looking for!
By Marie
from Mifflinburg, PA
This is a great everyday parka as there is room to add a warm vest or sweater under on very cold days; tightening all the openings helps to keep out cold air as well. The material is light, water repellent but breathable without making any annoying swishy sounds as I walk.

It's green
By K
It is really more green than grey. I thought (from the picture)that it was more grey. Kind of a surprise when I got it. I was going to return and order the true grey, but none was available in my size. I bought one almost identical to this one onsite many years ago. It is totally worn out. This one seems a bit lighter, but this one is washable, so I'm good!!

will think twice before I buy from Woolrich again. Overall quality was very cheap.

Excellent quality -not crazy about color
By Joan
I have buying this style jacket for 20 years - wish they would go back to the color bright red - they quit making it several years ago - did get ruby but not like the old red color.
Don't waste your money
By Littletancat

I was sorely disappointed in the quality (lack of) in this jacket I have always counted on Woolrich for. Looks like a cheap imitation of the Woolrich I used to count on. It's going back.

Just what I've been looking for.
By Joan the nature lover

This is the coat that I have been searching for. It is lightweight and non-bulky, but warm. It has all of the features that I want: a detachable hood, multiple pockets, adjustable waist and sleeves. It is stylish enough to wear to work, but not too dressy for an outdoor excursion. The only problem is that the sleeves are too long, and don't adjust small enough for my wrists. I usually buy petite, but it wasn't available on this item. The rest of the proportions are perfect.
Not at all what I expected
By Linda
from Anacortes, WA
I have had 2 other Woolrich parkas in the past and loved them. This one was WAY too big and much more of a raincoat than a warm winter parka. Very disappointing. Already have sent it back for a refund.

Wool is not scratchy after washing
By JL Yoga Teacher
from Oakland CA
I hesitated buying this because of the comment that the wool lining was "scratchy." It was; so I washed the jacket as soon as I got it and the lining is now soft and not at all scratchy. The jacket washed up beautifully with no wrinkles when hung out, not dried in the dryer. The color is true to the pictures and the plaid lining very nice. This will be the perfect coat to throw on to walk the dogs--nice big roomy pockets!

the red is very nice, not too bright. I have owned these jackets for years and just keep replacing them. The sale price was an added bonus.

I've known of Woorich quality and value for many years. I'm happy to see that is still important to the company. My only wish is that your company would move manufacturing back to PA, USA.

Lightweight Parka for Travel
By Nurse Sandi
I had searched many retailers looking for a packable, lightweight but warm jacket to take on a trip out west in the late summer when temperatures will range from 30 to 80 degrees. This parka looked like it would do the job and I was so thankful to find it marked 40% off the regular price. It needs to fit in a suitcase without taking up much space and when it arrived in a small box, I knew it would fit well.I wanted a hood and also rain and wind-resistant fabric, and to be able to wear a layer or 2 underneath for colder mornings. I bought a "medium" and it fits well, but without much room to spare (I wear a size 10-12 and usually do fine ordering a medium in most shirts, sweaters, jackets, etc.), but I daren't gain weight or it will be difficult to wear more than 1 or 2 layers under the coat without feeling jammed into it. I tried the drawcord waist but it looked weird on my shape so I will wear it "straight" for a more slimming appearance.I love that the coat reaches mid-thigh to keep my upper legs warmer, and I also like the dual-entry pockets where I can store stuff through the top of the velcro-topped pockets and keep the sides free to warm my hands.I ordered the coat in SAGE and the online photo looked almost grey. The actual color is closer to a grass green (more yellow-green) than what I consider sage green (more pale blue-green) which is more flattering for me, but it's okay color-wise.I think it will make a good cool weather coat and hope it works out on my trip.
Terrific! I love it!

This will be the perfect coat for fall and spring when it's cool out but not cold enough for a heavy coat.

Love the coat. Love the color.
By DC lady
from District Heights, MD
Generous cut & a Large probably would be okay, too. I have very broad shoulders and long arms, so the larger cut will be good when wearing double layers and bulky sweaters. The weight is nice and suitable for both cool and cold weather. When I had trouble over a delivery matter (at no fault of Woolrich), customer service personnel responded quickly and decisively. Excellent Service!

I bought this again!
By young J
from KOP
I haven't worn this yet as it is too warm these days but I intend to bring it on our upcoming cruise to Alaska. I've had this jacket for 10 years and recently lost weight so I got a smaller size for the trip and for years to come. Plan to pass my old jacket to some lucky girl since it is still in exellent condition.
Just what I was hoping for!
By happy camper
from new jersey
I needed a coat to replace a similar one that I had for years. This is just what I wanted--waterproof for little rain showers that come up unexpectedly, and a bit of warmth without being a winter coat. Would work for 3 seasons, and is just stylish enough. One reviewer remarked about the scratchy lining....this doesn't bother me, and what I expected; it is wool after all. Overall, just right for trips to the grocery store, long walks with the dog, just about any daily activity.
I had one of these and needed a new one.
By Itsy Bitsy Moose

I bought one of these years ago and needed a new one because it is a very versatile jacket. Was glad to see it on sale and purchased a pretty new blue color. I'm sure I will get as much use out of this one.

Might buy another, different color
By Silver Goose
from Hamilton, Montana
I plan to use this for outside activities when I want to look good, feel comfortable, and keep warm, but not too warm. My main purpose for buying this product is for a trip I am planning to Alaska where I will be in cooler weather, possibley rain and on the windy side. Usinging it everyday going to work, shopping, or going for a hike it is the perfect weight. The color is very adaptable to my other attire, it easily goes with other shades of blue, beige, greens, dressup or down. My husband said it is very attractive on me which is a rare thing to hear. Normally he does not pay attention to what I wear, but he specifically said it looks nice on me.
