Not as nice looking in person

About Me Career, Practical
I was pretty stoked about this purchase because I thought I had found "the bag". Turns out the cotton is pretty thin, the ribbed stitching wasn't consistent and the leather shoulder strap is painfully thick; now I like some quality leather, but this dug into my shoulder and left red marks on the skin. It's great that the bag is made in USA, but the quality was less than I expected. Very lightweight cotton and I doubted it'd stand the test of time for what I was planning on using it for, so I returned it.If you're looking for a light weight, non bulky bag, this just may be for you. I was looking for something with some hefty construction for insured durability.

Bag is right size

About Me Practical
I wanted a small well-built bag to carry a few items that I would need that day, and this is it. I read the reviews so there were no surprises on its size. I like its roominess and only one small pocket. Good for my derringer. I do have a CC license!

About Me Classic
I bought this bag for my daughter for college. It's a very cute bag, smaller than I thought, but big enough for her needs. I only wish it had a laptop sleeve.

Good and sturdy.

About Me Classic, Comfort-Oriented, Practical
We wanted the bag to use for our wildlife and wildflower field guides etc. We like the look of this bag and the pockets. One thing I noticed in handling the bag was the leather on the handle was very stiff and the edges are sharp. Maybe this will soften as we use the bag. A rounded handle would be better.

It fits everything I need for work but without much room for anything else. still if you don't have to carry a 15" laptop it's perfect.

About Me Casual Dresser
Looked like it would be a secure and durable tote to use for work travel and I am finding it to be just that. Glad to use it and it is made in the USA, surely have to like that.

Good Field Bag
By Collings D2H

In May 2010 someone broke into my home and stole several items including my well worn hunting field bag that was 25 years old with lots of character. I have been searching for a replacement since then. This bag is the closest I have been able to find. Now I have to use it to get the character back. I like the fact that in was made here in the USA. You can see American quality in the bag.
Not Just for men!
By Beth, Perennial Student

Though this is a 'man's bag,' I bought the green one to use as a bookbag for grad school. I like having unique, out-of-the-ordinary things, and this bag totally fits the bill! It's sturdy, yet comfortable, and holds everything I need for classes. It doesn't look 'man-ish' and I like the true buckle fasteners. It was a tad pricey at the original price, but I bought it anyway. I expect that it will last for years!

Rugged, Old Fashioned Quality, USA-Made
By Captain Butler

About Me Classic Dresser
I purchased two of these bags, one in each color (one for my dad and one for myself). It is perfect for my intended use. I store my outdoors stuff in it: binoculars, compass, pocket knife, first aid kit, gloves, etc. I can grab the bag quickly and go for trips to the forest, light day hikes, outdoor walks, etc. (For long/vigorous hikes, you would want a backpack). The best things about it are that it is rugged, durable, lightweight, and USA-Made. (The USA-Made is ultimately the reason I chose it over other similar bags). I can't think of any cons, except that the leather carry handle, and the leather shoulder "pad" on the strap, are unpadded, plain strips of sturdy leather. It is comfortable enough using the shoulder strap, but you would not want to use the hand-carry handle very long. One other thing: This bag's leather closing straps open and close the slow, old fashioned way--none of those faux closing straps with the metal quick-close mechanism behind them. Would definitely buy again--probably not for full price, but for a discounted price I would highly recommend it.
