Great jacket!

Comments about Men's Rescue Down Jacket:
Lots of pockets, inside & out. Looks great and super warm. I ordered a large and took it for granted that it would fit. Generally, I'm a warm person and don't really expect to have to layer to fill out the inside. In retrospect, I wish I'd gotten a medium because it is a bit billowy. That's really the only reason I labelled it as a poor fit. Nonetheless, it's a fantastic jacket.

Jacket goes off to college
By Grandma

As the gift giver, I've heard that the recipient is warm and comfortable now at temps of 12 or so, after leaving FL for college in the snow!

Sent it back.

First thing out of the package a button falls on the floor. That for me was not the reason I sent it back----the lining is made of synthetic flannel which is very itchy on the neck. How much more does it cost to put 100% real flannel in the lining which is warm and soft on the back of the neck? It would have been a great jacket without this synthetic flannel--that's why it went back.

Mens Rescue Down Jacket
By Friend of Wolf In the Snow
from SoCentral Oregon
Ordered for a male friend. Weather in winter here is cold, we have high winds & snow. Work outside, chopping wood, riding a snow plow, shoveling or just hiking requires a warm coat & the hood is almost essential. The multitude of useful pockets on this coat are super! This coat is his new best friend. If the hood was detachable it would be perfect, not just great. Arrived quickly, packaged well. I read all review, pros & cons, glad i bought this coat.

Don't buy unless you have a beer belly.

I am returning this coat and I'm dissapointed about it. It is one of the coolest looking winter coats I've seen. The problem is not only with Woolrich but nearly every clothing company. I am 6'1" and 180 pounds and while the chest, shoulders, and arms fit extremely well the midsection is huge! I understand that the average american is fat but clothes that fit this poorly only perpetuate the problem. I will try another Woolrich coat - with a drawstring waist - but I really loved the look of this one. Notice the model in the picture has his hands in his pockets to hide this flaw...

Nice Warm Jacket - Torso kind of big
By Casual Doug
from S.W. Ohio
The hood seems kind of big (guess that may come in handy in a snow storm). The button holes are kind of tight and there is not enough thread holding the buttons on (it feels like the thread is going to break when buttoning and un-buttoning. Guess this is no big deal since I mostly only use the velcro fasteners.

Great Coat
By Shawn
from Northern Idaho
This jacket is purely amazing. My wife purchased this coat in deep navy for me as a birthday present. I am a big believer in another outdoor/mountaineering brand, and own several different jackets/coats of theirs. However, none were nearly as stylish or comfortable as this coat. It seems that Woolrich has managed to mix extreme conditions warmth with traditional styling in this coat. I wear it every day, as I live at 4000 feet elevation in northern Idaho and often travel as high as 6000 feet or as low as 1000 feet in the winter. This coat definitely fits the bill for all of the above. And it looks GREAT!

"GREAT COAT"
By Frenchy
from Philadelphia, PA
I wear my "Rescue Jacket" during very cold weather. What I like about it most is I can wear it for any occasion. It's stylish and rugged at the same time. The greatest thing it is unless you get it dirty, it looks the same from the first day it was purchased. It never loses its shape. I sure do miss those outer chest pockets that the parka features.
