I've had this for ~45 days over 2 winters now, and all the front buttons had to be reattached due to less than substantial thread attachment. The lowest button (along the zipper line) should be reinforced, as that area ripped quickly and without undue stress. The coat is warm, windproof, and perfect for commuting by mass transit in the city; but I am disappointed by the overall workmanship, especially for the money. Overall, I'd say I'm pleased, but not satisfied.

Cheap replica of a good coat if it aint broke dont fix it Woolrich please go back to Original design many have tried to duplicate this classic but have not come close it seems the originators have done the same and tarnished there reputation as the best in out door clothing. So sad!!!!!

Could not evaluate performance because first ordered parka was returned since zipper did not work properly. Second/replaced parka was retuned also because the fur trim on hood was very poorly trimmed/cut. Would not order a third parka because of what seems to be poor quality control of this Woolrich item.

Did not have a chance to wear this item as it was returned for an exchange. It was returned because the zipper did not work properly. The zipper was "rippled" thus it would not work smoothly.

An excellent jacket that is comfortable and warm. Great build quality, the hood has comfortable insulated padding and nice coyote fur trim. The sleeves come with raglan trim to block the wind from shooting up the sleeve. My coat featured flannel lining both in the hood and jacket interior. The zippers are high quality and zip easily.

My only two caveats are 1. the size small is slightly larger than I anticipated. Fine if I wear a heavy sweater but on normal use I'm swimming in it. I wish there were an extra-small option. 2. There is no wind block from the bottom of the jacket. The clinch around the waist is helpful but an extra nylon flap that buttons separately would have been helpful for keeping burst of wind.

Unlike most of my Christmas purchases, I was pleasantly surprised with this jacket. (I purchased it online.) Seems to be of much better qualty than most of the cheap rubbish that is available in most stores.

I like it. The warm, relaxed and comfortable. Cons: crunches in the cold longer-25C, it is necessary to wear a scarf. The hood is not adjustable.

I purchased this parka to replace a down Warden's Parka. The fit and look were what I was looking for but the warmth is seriously missing. First outdoor use was at the World Pond Hockey event and I was not warm at 15 F outside temp. Back at the event the next day in the old Parka with even colder temperatures and was glad I had not thrown it away. In short, this will be a good coat when the temperature is between 25 and 40 degrees but it is not the coat for cold northern Maine winters. It needs substantially more insulation in the body of the coat and could use design refinements in the neck protection area. Not good for truly cold windy conditions.

I bought Two of these coats IN 2006 there by far better than the eddie baurer version i own two of those also so I know . Looks Brand new and Just wish i had bought the gray also when the color was available. So to the fools that say the hood needs adjusting your head needs adjusting. I had a Senator and a officer of the court try to buy the coat off my back ....

This jacket looks great and keeps you warm as advertised. I am 5'9" wearing a 40R suit jacket and got a medium which fits very well. The sleeves aren't too long which is a common problem for me with many coats.

As mentioned the hood is very deep (which is a good thing) but there is no buckle and nylon strip on the top to adjust the depth of the hood. The hood engulfs your head as it currently is. This is ok for me as I find the buckle on the top of the hood to be unsightly, but it is practical to have. Usually when I have the hood up it is to protect from snow so I don't mind it engulfing my head.

One other small flaw is in the wasteband restrants. There is an internal nylon cord to adjust the tightness of the waste. The problem is that the only thing to keep the nylon tight are two small strips of leather. They don't do a sufficient job and the waste lets out after ~5 minutes of walking around. I'm surprised that nobody picked up on this during the R&D process although maybe using leather was a cost-saving decision. Woolrich should replace these with plastic spring powered clips.

All things considered it's still a phenomenal jacket.

I have owned many cold weather parkas and this is by far the best of them all. Quality construction and great style with no cold spots, makes this an outstanding value. The only drawbacks are no adjustment to shorten the hood ,back to front and the neck has less coverage than I would like. I guess I will have to wear a turtle neck or scarf. Well done Woolrich. Norse gods would wear this coat.

I am a longshoreman on the New York ports, I wear it to work, it gets very cold on the dock, the coat has kept me warm , it is my second parka from woolrich which i will use for casual events.

Purchased for Wisconsin winters. Classy enough for wide range of uses. Warm but not overly bulky. Design is timely yet distinctive from other parkas. Ordered true to size. 40 jacket is definitely a medium. Glad I did not order a large.

This is the coat I wished for last winter. With biting north winds, below zero temps, and heavy snows in February and a young dog to walk & play with, as well as time spent waiting for public transit, I could only hope for something just a bit longer, just a little bit warmer. Now, I'm just waiting for that first bite of winter. (Of course, with my luck, I've just ensured record warmth for the season ....)

I've only had this coat for about 5 days, but I love it already. It's amazingly warm without being overly bulky. I split a lot of time between NYC and Chicago and am looking forward at battling those temps with this thing this winter. Highly recommend.

I don't understand those reviewers that say the hood is not adjustable. It is totally adjustable. Also, for those who say that it doesn't close at the neck, you are mistaken. This is a wonderful coat at a very fair price.

My only complaint is that you can't adjust the hood so in my case it comes down over my face from the top further than I would like.

The hood lacks adjustments for a good, tight fit. No zippered inside pockets. Very generous cut. I think that the jacket is a good value, but not in the same class as other parkas.

I bought this parka for use in the Moscow winter, but had to return it. Fill was insufficient for harsh climate, and was unevenly distributed. Also, you would need to wear a scarf with this jacket because it does not close completely at the collar

I tried the same product in Europe and there was a lot more fill, although this is reflected in the price. I appreciated that the customer service was honest and direct about this difference.
