I had purchased 2 of these t-necks in a store last year and love them, so when I ordered the same one from Woolrich, same size I was shocked the neck was so tight. My neck measures 14" with no rolls, and the size L was choking me. The body was fine,I like my shirts a little loose,and the arm length was great I have a little longer arms. Bummed it was same qualitly as my others.

Yhis is a well-made, comfotable product that comes in several colors that you will not find elsewhere. I bought the clay heather and found it true to its picture, both online and in the catalog. It has a substantial feel to it, but not so substantial that it wouldn't make a great base layer, with a shirt or sweater, for a cool office.
Although it is not advertised as such, I found it also useful as a pajama top in a house where I turn the heat down to 58 degrees at night. The fit is comfortable, but not baggy or oversized. Thus it can also stand on its own without a covering layer.
As a matter of personal choice, I also liked the fit of the turtleneck. Many turtlenecks sag, leaving a huge gap between the neck of the turle and that of the wearer. This turtleneck is not snug or binding, but it does stand up and protect the back of the neck from chills.

I was happy to receive some of these turtlenecks as a gift, but was sorry to find that the neck is far too tight on all of them. My neck is pretty long and on the thin side, too, so I've never had that problems with other turtlenecks. I really like the Woolrich mock turtlenecks, so I assumed I'd love these, too. It's really too bad because I like that little extra bit of fabric to keep me warm in harsh winter weather.

I loved this shirt: fabric is soft and substantial and the color was just what I wanted. However, the neck was far too tight and became tighter when washed. I'm disappointed as I've been unable to find any other shirt in this color.

Finally a perfect fitting turtleneck that is long enough (I'm 5'8") and looks great worn out over pants, crops, or leggings. Beautiful soft cotton, neck stays up beautifully , wish I had tried these sooner!

I like this top overall. However, for my taste, the turtleneck is a bit too snug for comfort. I may take apart the neck and turn it into a "mock" turtle.

When fall comes, I look forward to pulling on this soft, comfy turtleneck. The heathered color suits me very well and it will layer wonderfully under my cool weather jackets. The neck felt a little snug when I tried it on, but perhaps it will loosen up a little with wearing. I can hardly7 wait to give it a try.

Even though my heather brown t-neck was a size L, affording me more than ample room for the torso (I like 'em loose), the neck was intolerably tight. I have previously purchased heathered t-necks from Woolrich, always in L, and I never had one with an uncomfortable neck before. In fact, Woolrich's heathered t-necks are my favorites and the best t-necks I've ever had and I restock every year.
This time I ordered a gray one in M (already had one in L) and a brown one in L. The neck on the M is very comfortable, same softness as the body of the shirt and not noticeably elasticised at all. Not so the brown one in L, where the neck VERY noticeably elasticized, which was really uncomfortable, and the fabric not soft like the body of the shirt. This particular t-neck was a big disappointment. I would rank it "defective".

Initially, I bought a Woolrich T-neck at a yards sale. This was a used garment, mind you. It was in such good shape and I have washed and worn it many times since. It is holding it's color and shape better than any other T-necks I have purchased from anyone. That's what convinced me to try a new Woolrich T-neck. I am happy to report that Woolrich has continued to maintain its high quality. Unfortunately, not every T-neck manufacturer has. I favor wearing T-necks and I will be buying mine from Woolrich from now on.

I usually wear a Medium, but that was too large so I exchanged it for a Small which fits perfectly. So I'd say your sizing is a little large. Once I resolved that, I can say I love it.

I now own 5 of the 'heather' turtleneck shirts. I think they are the best. I'm +60 & have no plans to get over classic rock, faded jeans or all things comfortable. These shirts definally fit ME. They are great under a sweater, vest or a good lookin leather jacket. They've been perfect w/jeans, cords or a nice pair of slacks (I'm not really a skirt person) this mild (so far) winter in Georgia. They will get a lot of wear layered or alone.
Great colors without looking like a pinwheel.

I've been looking for a true navy blue heather or blue denim heather for a long time. This color is as close as I could come, and it may not be as useable as I had hoped. I read that other people found the neck to be tight, but I ordered anyway. Wow, it is tight, and I don't have a fat neck. I probably should return it, but I'll try it on a cold, windy day and see if I get dizzy from the constriction around my neck. Too bad.
